International Yoga Day - R R Padmanabhan, Director - Exim Academy
International Yoga Day
Unlike other physical exercises, yoga works both on physical and mental levels. In yoga, you have to follow your breath through inhale and exhale cycle at every pose. When you observe inhale and exhale you automatically regulate your mind.
In Dhyana, you suggest a thought for yourself, a thought that
is higher than yourself. Your present state in profession or life is the
combined product of your thoughts, words and deeds. Your environment influences
your thoughts. While you may not be able to change your environment, certainly
you can regulate your thought. How can you do? It is by Dhyana only. Dhyana
is not concentration but hovering of mind around a suggestion or a thought.
Slowly as you dive deeper into yourself, there comes a stage you feel the
vacuum. In vacuum, you may not know who you are and you are deep in your Self.
This will be followed by train of thoughts. This is the pattern. So by
exercising your will to regulate your thinking, you develop your capability to
respond, not react to situations in your life.
I have been practicing Heartfulness (HFN) system
of Dhyana from 1996 and yoga from 2007. Both are in my daily routine. If
you want to learn HFN Dhyana, reach out to Heartsapp. The training is
free.
