The Spiritual CEO

Many books have been written on the subject of spirituality, self development and Executive excellence.  This book The Spiritual CEO links spiritual development of the self to organizational growth. I have heard many CEOs lamenting about the work of their predecessors and that they have inherited problems that impede development. Like individuals inheriting their karma, organizations also inherit karma. Karma is nothing but product of one's past thoughts, words and actions. The Author Prakash introduces the concept of companies inheriting karma from their past actions.

The book is quite brief running to 140 pages and encompasses vast knowledge from the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata (I prefer to use the term epics rather than mythology) and feeds the reader how a CEO can transform not only himself but also his organization in the process. The size of book is brief but contains extreme potency. The book has to be read and re read several times for it takes time to assimilate the force of might.

There are 9 chapters, with the first starting with definition of Korporate Karma as Dividend from the past, but asks us 'what are you going to pass on as your legacy'. The CEO should stand tall and think big to transform from ordinary to extraordinary. Focus on the cause and see the result and not the other way round. It is no longer the financial performance but care about people and the planet. Review, Reverse and Perform and rewind Fast Forward.
It is no longer financial performance but self development of the CEO that reverberates in the entire organization. Leaders have to become walking ambassadors of their corporate DNA and the proclaimed value statements.

Who is the spiritual CEO? The one who works on healthy physique and healthy mind thus nourishing his soul. What do we do now? Erase the past, Go, Act on the present and create a future like Sage Vishwamitra. In the process metamorphosis into  CEO who can make a difference to lives of people. Such a process will find new Terra Firma.

The book is published by Westland Publications and available in Amazon. I strongly recommend this book to all.
